Upfront Medical Exams Required for Express Entry PR Applications Starting August 21, 2025

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that from August 21, 2025, applicants for permanent residence under the Express Entry system must complete an upfront immigration medical exam before submitting their application.

Currently, Express Entry applicants submit their complete PR application first and then wait for instructions from IRCC regarding any medical requirements. This process will change for applications submitted on or after the effective date.

Applications submitted before August 21, 2025 will follow the existing process and will not be impacted.

This update applies only to Express Entry PR applications. Other permanent residence categories are not affected.

加拿大移民、难民和公民部（IRCC）宣布，自 2025年8月21日 起，通过 快速通道（Express Entry） 申请永久居民的申请人，必须在递交申请前完成 移民体检。

目前，快速通道申请人通常是在提交完整申请后，等待IRCC通知是否需要体检。新规定生效后，申请人必须在提交申请前就完成体检。

2025年8月21日之前 提交的申请将继续按原流程办理，不受影响。

本次政策变更 仅适用于快速通道 永久居民申请，其他类别的永居申请不受影响。
